2018-19 Chairman of the Board

Native Washingtonian Dan Harkins, a recent retiree from the grocery industry, has served on the foundation board since 2014 and is an active member of the Foundation’s allocation and finance committees. In addition, he gives his time to numerous other nonprofit organizations focusing on hunger and housing.

Dan earned his degree in business administration and management from Seattle University and served in the United States Navy. He and his wife, Pam, have lived in Edmonds for 40 years, where they raised three children: Tom, John, and Shannon. Dan enjoys CrossFit, following local sports teams, and spending time with the couple’s eight grandchildren.

New Board Member January 2018

Dr. Grierson is the Physician Site Director at Providence Medical Group, Marysville Washington, and he is active in the community sitting on several different boards including the Stanwood-Camano YMCA, Western Washington Area Health Education Center and Camano Chapel Administrative Board. Jimmy and his wife Linda—a retired middle school teacher— live on Camano Island with their three children, Hannah, Jonah and Micah.

Dr. Grierson firmly believes in the mission of Providence, its vision, promise, strategic outcome and value and says that “being on the board is an extension of his beliefs.” Besides his family, he is most proud of the establishment and ongoing operation of the Jake Harbor Free Clinic. The clinic has provided more than 10,000 no cost patient visits for acute care, change care, minor office surgery, podiatric, respiration and dental services to date.
