Providence General Foundation welcomes Ray Stephanson and Steve & Carol Klein to the Board of Directors
Ray Stephanson was born and raised in Everett and was first elected to Mayor in 2003. He served 14 years, making him the longest-serving mayor in Everett history. His long career saw many accomplishments including being a champion for Naval Station Everett and playing a critical role in bringing commercial air service and light rail to the Everett community. During Ray's tenure, the City developed initiatives to address homelessness, mental health issues and addiction. One of Ray's greatest gifts to the community was his vision for expanded higher education opportunities which helped bring Washington State University to Everett. In retirement, Ray enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. He and his wife Vikki, have three children and two grandchildren.
Steve and Carol Klein, owners of Klein Honda, are active supporters of Providence, serving as co-chairs of the Friends of Providence Donor Society in addition to leading initiatives in support of bringing world-class care to our community. Steve built his business from the ground up, being only the 132nd Honda auto dealer in the U.S. at the age of 23. He served as president of the Puget Sound Automobile Dealers Association from 2012 to 2015. For his contributions to the auto industry, quality dealership operations, and community service, he received the Robert P. Mallon Dealer of the Year Award in 2015. In 2019 he was nominated for the TIME Dealer of the Year Award. Carol is a former speech therapist and administrator for the Mukilteo School District.
