Family Practice & Education Residency Southwest Washington - Olympia and Chehalis

Together we answer the call of every learner we serve:

Teach me, mentor me, show me the way.

Mission Statement

Providence St. Peter Family Medicine pharmacy residency is committed to excellence in patient-centered care and advancement of pharmacy practice.

Purpose Statement

The purpose of Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency program is to train pharmacists who specialize in provision of primary care services within an interdisciplinary team while advancing patient-centered care through quality improvement, practice based leadership and education of the health care team.

The residency program prepares residents to pursue a career as an ambulatory care pharmacist in the roles where initiation and expansion of services are needed and pharmacy leadership and education are desired.

Beyond Clinical Expertise

Providence St. Peter Family Medicine residency is a multi-site, PGY2 program focused on Family Practice and Education.  The focus of this residency program goes beyond expanding your clinical expertise.  In addition to refining your skills as an ambulatory care specialist, you will become a skilled educator, leader in pharmacy practice and have the ability to initiate sustainable pharmacy services within an interdisciplinary team.

Fostering Independence

We emphasize independence and continual growth.  You will be given patient care responsibilities, teaching opportunities that range from preceptorship to didactics, and develop and implement new clinical services in the Patient Centered Medical Home.  The goal of this PGY2 program is to provide you with the skills for proposal preparation, problem solving, design and implementation of new clinical services.

Work/Life Balance

We believe in cultivating a resident’s ability to maintain work life balance while sustaining the highest level of patient care and active leadership in pharmacy practice.
