12th Annual Angel Ride for Hospice Raises Over $7,200

The 12th annual Angel Ride for Hospice event was a huge success! Over 95 motorcycle enthusiasts joined up for a 140 mile long motorcycle ride across Snohomish and Skagit Counties to show their support of Snohomish Hospice & Homecare. The ride raised over $7,200 for The Carousel Program, which provides pediatric hospice, palliative care, and bereavement programs for children from birth to 18 years of age.
Dorothy Merritt, surgery scheduler for the Cardiology department, heard about Angel Ride through The Latest, and thought it was something worth trying. “I think all-in-all it was a great ride! It’s for a great cause and the ride was very enjoyable,” Dorothy said.
Riders met for a hearty breakfast at a Buzz Inn in Arlington before heading out on their ride. They stopped for a BBQ lunch at the Rockport Pub on their way to their final destination at Angel of the Winds Casino. They were greeted with door prizes where one lucky rider won a pair of Seahawk tickets! “The whole ride from start to finish was incredibly organized,” said Dorothy. “This was the first year we participated, and it will be an every year ride from here on out.”
A huge thank you to all the people who volunteered their time and to the businesses that supported this year’s Angel Ride. Meat for the BBQ lunch was donated by Silvana Meats, Double D Meats and Kelso Kustom Meats. Thank you to John Cronin, marketing manager at Angel of the Winds Casino, who has been instrumental in the success of this event for the past four years. A final thank you goes to all of the returning riders, along with the many new faces that joined for the ride this year. Each of you contributed to the success of this event!
