Volunteer Services hosts first ever system-wide Volunteer Services Conference
Published November 9, 2015
Over the last few years, we've been able to witness amazing things through collaboration with other regions of Providence. However, it's not always easy to bring people together when they are spread out over 4,000 miles. That's why we are celebrating that PRMCE was able to host the first-ever Volunteer Services Conference!
The conference consisted of 27 individuals with representation from every one of the five states Providence Health & Services is in. The team identified best practices for volunteer programs while improving the patient experience, developed tools for a more effective volunteer services program and started discussing the option of a system standard for volunteer software. The team created a Sharepoint site to share important information with each other and is already in the works of looking at the second annual conference for next year.
"Our focus was to build a foundation that would move us forward through the ever changing healthcare world by creating a 'team' approach as we connect with our peers for direction, ideas, and development of volunteer roles that impact the patient experience," said Wendy Turner, volunteer services manager at PRMCE. Congratulations Wendy and the caregivers and volunteers who helped make this conference possible!
