Classes & Resources

Providence hosts a wide variety of health-related classes, events and support groups in Spokane, including CPR classes, childbirth and parenting education, Project Adam (placing automated cardiac defibrillators in area high schools) free car seat safety checks and more. We also hold, sponsor or support major events that benefit non-profit organizations in our community.

Car Seat Inspections

Schedule an appointment with our Child Passenger Safety Technicians to check your current car seat(s) for proper installation. Our technicians will also help you understand passenger safety laws, show you how to choose your next car seat and give you handy car seat safety tips.

Appointments are free and take approximately one hour to complete.

Child Life Services

Hospitalization can be unnerving enough when you are an adult. Imagine how scary the same experience can be for a child! Our child life specialists are devoted to making a child's hospitalization experience as understandable and close to normal life as possible.

Children's Clubhouse

For children whose family members are receiving care at Sacred Heart. Children must be healthy, at least 3½ years old and potty trained. Located in the upper level of the Children's Emergency Department, the Clubhouse is staffed Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-noon, and 1-4 p.m. Enter from Emergency, or the Main Floor "Bridge of Hope," just east of the Fish Elevators.

Support Groups

Whether you're a new mom, or are the parent or sibling of a patient newly diagnosed with cancer, we provide the support you need, whether it's education, a listening ear, or just a break from your caregiving.
