Patient Advisory Council
The Patient Advisory Council is an experienced, diverse group of patients and families who serve as consultants for the health care providers and administrators at Providence St. Peter Hospital and Providence Centralia Hospital.
The council provides ongoing feedback on the policies and practices that shape patient care and serves as an essential link between Providence leadership and the community.
As advocates for the needs of patients and their families, the Patient Advisory Council promotes better understanding and communication between health care providers and the people they serve.
Should I be an advisor?
A strong candidate for a Patient Advisory Council position is:
- Responsible and dependable
- An active listener
- Compassionate and respectful
- Able to work at least two hours per month
- Committed to a two-year term

What will I be doing?
As part of the Patient Advisory Council, you may:
- Serve on a focus group to evaluate patient teaching materials
- Provide input on hospital-wide changes, such as:
• Policy changes
• New construction
• Patient menu
• Special projects
- Contribute to ongoing hospital discussion on best practices for:
• Hospital-acquired infection (HAI) prevention
• Fall prevention
• Customer service
• Participate in selected hospital committees or long-term Advisory Council
