Providence Hospice of Seattle serves adults, children, and families throughout King County, including Vashon Island. Our teams of professional health care providers have specialized training in end-of-life care, and include nurses, medical social workers, home health aides, chaplains, occupational/physical therapists, pharmacist, medical directors, grief support counselors, and volunteers.
Through skilled, compassionate care, we strive to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients and families. Hospice care is most effective when it is begun early so that patients and their families can benefit from the education, support and counseling services.
Patients must meet the following eligibility criteria to be appropriate for hospice care:
- Adults, children and infants with a prognosis of six months or less if the disease runs its normal course
- Hospice can continue after six months as long as the patient continues to meet eligibility criteria
- Prognosis is certified by community and hospice physician
- Patient and family desire palliative care as opposed to curative treatment
Providence Hospice of Seattle provides its services to eligible individuals throughout all of KingCounty regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, diagnosis, financial status or ability to pay
Who pays for this service?
- Private Insurance
Financial assistance is available for those who cannot afford to pay.
