Please note: All in-person grief support groups and events have been postponed until further notice due to Coronavirus precautions. Phone support and limited one-on-one support are still available for urgent bereavement needs.

Providence Grief Support Services offers grief counseling services for adults, teens and children. Short-term grief support and education is available to individuals and families following the death of a significant person.

Thurston/Mason county crisis lLine

The Crisis clinic offers 24/7 continuous support for anyone in crisis. For immediate support call 360-586-2800.

Lewis county crisis line

The Lewis County Crises Line is a 24-hour service provided by Cascade Mental Health Clinic. During business hours please ask to speak with the Designated Mental Health Professional. For immediate support call 360-748-6696 or 800-559-6696.

Adult grief support groups offer an opportunity to meet with trained facilitators and other individuals who have experienced a loss. The monthly groups listed below are open to anyone in the community experiencing a loss in the past 15 months. Drop-in groups (no registration required)

Thurston County - Groups are currently only offered virtually via Zoom.

  • 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month (excluding holidays), 10 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Lacey Presbyterian Church Library - 3045 Carpenter Rd. SE, Olympia, WA

Mason County - Groups are currently only offered virtually via Zoom.

  • 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month (excluding holidays), 2 - 3:30 p.m.
  • Shelton Senior Center - 190 W Sentry Dr., Shelton, WA

The SoundCareKids program in Thurston County welcomes families with children age 5 to 18. Children, teens and parents meet in small groups according to age range: 5-8 years, 9-12 years, 13-18 years, parents/guardians.

Thursdays from 6:15 - 7:45 p.m. when in session. Sessions offered in the fall, winter and spring. Pre-registration is required.
