Become a volunteer and enrich the lives of others as well as your own. Providence Mother Joseph Care Center has rewarding and fun opportunities for you. Our residents and staff value our volunteers who make a difference through assisting with group and intergenerational activities, making individual one to one visits with residents, and helping to care for our facility pets. Keeping active and engaged ensures a rich and rewarding quality of life for our residents and our volunteers help to make that happen.
… or create your own program based on your skills and interests to share with our residents.
Training will depend upon the volunteer activity. Some positions require that the volunteer have more in depth training prior to engaging in the activity, but most positions offer “on-the-job” training by a staff member.
Anyone who is at least 14 years of age and and has a strong desire to make a difference.
It's simple. Call and make an appointment to fill out a Volunteer Application and take a tour of our care center. This is the time that you can find out about the variety of areas in which volunteers can make a difference. We also listen to your personal ambitions and areas of interest. Each volunteer is also required to complete a background check and Tuberculosis test upon applying and then annually.
We try to place you as closely to your area of interest as we can. But, if you are dissatisfied with a job, or would like to try something new, we will work with you to ensure a fulfilling experience for you and our residents.
Many times people want variety in the things they do as a volunteer. We have many volunteers that work their volunteer hours in several different areas.
You need to be able to commit to at least 50 hours of service per year.
