If you struggle to sleep well, you’re not alone. Nearly 70 million Americans have sleep issues. But better days (and nights) aren’t just a dream. The Providence Sleep Center is here for you every step of the way from diagnosis through treatment. We want to help you get the restorative, rejuvenating sleep you deserve for a healthy, fulfilling life.

For over two decades, we’ve diagnosed, evaluated and treated a variety of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia and narcolepsy. Our doctors and sleep technologists have the specialized training to treat your sleep disorder with state-of-the-art technology and a wealth of experience.

We’ve been certified by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine since 1992.

Most sleep disorders can be treated, but many people have no idea they have a problem. We’re here to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Insomnia
  • Narcolepsy
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Sleep apnea
  • Snoring

The first step in diagnosing a sleep disorder is usually a sleep study. This involves spending a night at our center in a private, comfortable room so we can evaluate your sleeping patterns. The study measures your brain waves, eye and leg movements, heart rate and breathing patterns and the oxygen levels in your blood.

You may be asked to keep a log of your sleep patterns for several days.

If you suffer from daytime sleepiness, we also offer similar daytime studies involving a series of nap sessions every two hours.

Once we have a diagnosis, we can work with you and your doctor to create a personalized care plan using lifestyle improvements and the latest innovations, including breathing devices, diet and exercise, medication and surgery.

CPAP for sleep apnea

If you’re diagnosed with sleep apnea, you may be offered a nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine as a treatment option. A CPAP is worn while you sleep and delivers a continuous flow of air to keep your breathing pathways open for better breathing and improved sleeping.
