Pharmacy Residency

At Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, we believe strongly in the effectiveness of patient-centered, clinical pharmacy practice. It’s a philosophy that’s supported across the Providence organization. Through our PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency, you will have the opportunity to develop the skills and experience necessary to succeed in a clinical practice setting. As a resident you’ll benefit from our unique training program that takes advantage of the wide variety of rotations and learning experiences within both acute and ambulatory care settings.

The program will give participants the chance to provide pharmaceutical care in multiple environments. The resident will be able to work independently in all areas assigned, work effectively with pharmacists in other areas, and be able to supervise or coordinate work for others. Residents will have opportunities to educate others, participate in research, analyze and present information. The goal is for each pharmacy resident to mature in a professional role, be proactive and assertive in interacting with other staff and disciplines, and develop an awareness of local and national pharmacy issues.
