Providence Spokane Heart Institute

Kootenai Health is closing its Washington Heart Clinics Northwest locations, effective August 14, 2020. As you consider where you should receive your heart care, Providence has a support team available to answer your questions and help guide your next steps. You can call our customer care team at 844-952-1097, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

What's happening?

Kootenai Health chose to close their Heart Clinic Northwest office location on the Providence Spokane Heart Institute at Sacred Heart campus. Those providers will continue to see patients at a variety of locations, including Heart Clinics Northwest's main location in Coeur d'Alene.

Can I still see a Providence Spokane Heart Institute cardiologist?

Yes. We appreciate you choosing Providence to continue to your care. Here are the steps we suggest you take:

  • Call 844-952-1097 and talk with a member of our team. Let them know you wish to transition your cardiologist to a Providence-based provider.
  • A care team member will assist you in completing any necessary forms and answer any questions you have. You can also download and complete the Medical Records Release form.
  • Staff at the Providence Spokane Heart Institute will contact you as soon as possible to evaluate your specific needs and appropriate time frame for your next appointment.

What if I want to keep seeing the same cardiologist?

You may do so. If you have been notified your provider will no longer be seeing patients at a Providence location, you should contact that provider's office for next steps. You will see your provider at an alternate location, which may include north Idaho. You should also verify insurance coverage.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept payment from Medicare, Medicaid, private pay and most insurance plans. Financial assistance for our services is available for those who qualify. If you have specific questions about your plan or available benefits, please contact your insurance provider. Please call us at 844-952-1097 if you have additional questions about accepted health insurance plans or financial aid.
