About Spine Care

Spine care refers to taking care of your neck and back, including the bones called vertebrae and the muscles that support them. To keep your back healthy and strong, maintain good posture, exercise regularly and avoid lifting heavy objects or wearing heavy backpacks. If you do develop a spine condition, it could be the result of an injury or disease, or of wear and tear on your body.

Spine conditions we treat include:

  • Back pain
  • Degenerative disk disease
  • Failed back syndrome
  • Herniated disks
  • Juvenile scoliosis present into adulthood
  • Myelopathy
  • Neck pain
  • Osteoporosis
  • Radiculopathy
  • Sagittal imbalance syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Scoliosis
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Spinal deformities
  • Spondylolisthesis (slipped vertebra)
  • Stenosis

Meet the Team

At Providence, you'll have access to a vast network of dedicated and compassionate providers who offer personalized care by focusing on treatment, prevention and health education.

Personalized Treatment for Your Spine

For many spine conditions, nonsurgical treatments may be highly effective. In other cases, surgery may be required to help ease pain and other symptoms. Your treatment may include nonsurgical or surgical procedures. Treatments may include:

  • Occupational therapy
  • Pain management
  • Physiatry
  • Physical therapy
  • Rehabilitation
  • Robotic-assisted surgery
  • Surgery

You may also be referred to a neuromuscular specialist at Providence’s St. Luke’s Physiatry and Neuromuscular Center. Here you’ll work with physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors who specialize in muscle and bone issues that affect how your body moves.

Why Choose Us for Your Spine Care?

When you’re living in pain, every part of your life can be affected. Our neuroscience specialists treat your spine, back and neck conditions so you feel like yourself again. Here’s why so many patients choose Providence Spokane Inland Neurosurgery & Spine Center each year to help them manage their pain:

As our patient, you have access to neurosurgeons with deep expertise in spine care. We provide 24/7 inpatient neurosurgical services, so no matter what time of day you need us, our experts are always there for you. This includes transfer care for the entire region. We also handle all local neurotrauma surgeries, in partnership with general surgeons.

Spine pain doesn’t have to define your life or limit your ability to do the things you love. If your pain is impacting how you live, work and play, the specialists at Providence Spokane Inland Neurosurgery & Spine Center offer a range of treatment options. It’s the kind of expert and compassionate support you need to help ease your pain and get you moving again.

Our doctors and therapists provide surgical and non-surgical treatments for spinal conditions. Your doctor will recommend the treatment plan that is best for your condition. This may include rehabilitation, surgery or both. In addition to physical therapy, our specialists may recommend noninvasive treatments such as injections or noninflammatory medications.

If you need surgery, our neurosurgeons use the most advanced techniques, including minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery. Our experts use a robotic system called the Globus Medical ExcelsiusGPS that combines surgical GPS navigation and robotic guidance to improve the accuracy and safety of surgery. This innovative approach helps our patients recover faster and reduces pain and the risk of infection.
