Becky Brewer

becky_brewer Becky worked as a health care consultant, first with Andersen Consulting, and later with Price Waterhouse Coopers, for over a decade. During this time her areas of focus were health care business and strategic planning, IT planning, management of large IT implementation projects, cost accounting, and reimbursement strategies. Primary clients included St. Louis University Medical Center, Barnes Hospital (St. Louis), Jewish Hospital (St. Louis), St. Johns Hospital (Springfield Mo), Leahy Clinic (Boston), University Medical Center (London, Ontario), and George Washington University Medical Center (Washington DC).

Becky joined the Providence St. Peter Hospital Community Ministry Board in January 2014.

Greg Cuoio

Greg_CuoioDuring his career, Greg served on numerous local, regional, and state-wide committees and boards. He is a past president of the Washington City County Management Association and served as a Governor's appointee to the Washington Law Enforcement and Firefighters Retirement Board. Greg currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. He is President-elect for the Lacey Rotary Club, is a member of the Thurston Roundtable, and is a Board member and officer for the Lacey Rotary Foundation.  

Greg joined the Providence St. Peter Hospital Community Ministry Board in January 2014.

Kim Dinsmore

Dinsmore_KimKim is currently Executive Vice President of Sunset Air, Inc., one of the Northwest’s premier energy companies. Sunset Air began in 1976 as a small residential heating and air-conditioning company, serving Thurston County. Today with Kim and the help of many others, Sunset Air, Inc. is recognized as a leader in the field of energy consulting and conservation, design and installation of mechanical systems, and service and maintenance of buildings of all shapes and sizes throughout the Northwest. In 2012, Sunset Air designed and installed the mechanical systems for the Saint Martin’s University’s new engineering building, which, at the time, was honored as the third highest rated LEED energy efficient building in the world.

Katie Gerard


Katie Gerard is the HR Director for the Washington State Department of Revenue. Katie began her career in public service in 1994. She has spent that last 20 years building her HR career in Washington State Government working at the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, Department of Personnel, Office of Financial Management and now Department of Revenue. She was a key contributor to civil service reform and played a leadership role in multiple statewide personnel system implementations.

Dale Hedden

St_Peter_HeddenDale was born in Olympia and has lived in this area all his life. Dale is a CPA with McGladrey and Pullen LLP with local offices in Olympia, Tacoma and Seattle. In his practice, he serves many medical professionals, family held businesses and not for profit organizations. He is treasurer of the Rotary Club of Olympia and the Olympia Rotary Foundation.

Dale joined the PSPH Community Ministry Board in January 2010 and serves on the Finance Committee of the Board.

Susan Hettinger

Gettinger_SusanAttorney Susan Hettinger’s broad set of skills include legal services, human resources, policy, finance and public policy. As a manager, Ms. Hettinger has served her community as a leader in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. She was chief of staff for the Southwest Washington Region of Catholic Community Services and deputy director for the Washington State Department of Information Services. Ms. Hettinger also served as the executive director, board president and Advisory Council member of Amara Childrens Services. She is currently an attorney at the Washington State Employment Security Department and serves as the Director of Washington's Unemployment Insurance Claims Centers.

Brad Livingstone

livingstone_bradA married father of three, Brad has called Olympia home since 1991. Graduating from Washington State University College of Pharmacy in 1996, he has followed an eclectic path toward entrepreneurism within his chosen field. He currently operates two independent specialty pharmacies in Olympia. Brad has been involved in drug trials, is a clinical and operational consultant for outpatient surgical centers, independent pharmacies and inpatient skilled nursing facilities, and has a strong background in quality control and operations management.

Raj Manhas

Raj_ManhasRaj is a leader in public education, currently serving as Superintendent of North Thurston Public Schools. He grew up in a village in India and went on to graduate with a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Washington. He has held diverse leadership positions in both public and private sectors, including Rainier/Security Pacific Bank, Seattle Public Utilities and Seattle Public Schools. He was also the Executive Director of the “Seeds of Compassion” gathering with the Dalai Lama in Seattle in 2008.

Michael Matlock, M.D.

matlock_mikeDr. Matlock moved to Olympia in 1982 and practiced internal medicine with a specialty in Infectious Diseases, with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS care, from 1982 until his retirement in 2014. 

Dr. Matlock served in several leadership roles throughout his 32 years as a member of the Providence medical staff, including Chief Medical Officer, Providence St. Peter Hospital, 1999 – 2010.

Eileen McKenzieSullivan

McKenzieSullivan_eileenEileen McKenzieSullivan is Executive Director of Senior Services for South Sound, a multi-program agency serving older adults in Mason and Thurston County.

She moved to Thurston County to help develop and run the STARS Adult Day Program for Senior Services in 1982. Under her direction, STARS grew, providing Adult Day Programming at many different sites in Mason and Thurston Counties serving elders and their families who are facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, Stroke and many other elder and caregiver issues. In 1996, Eileen became the Executive Director of Senior Services, leading the agency to help meet the growing number of seniors and their needs and concerns.

Martin Meyer

St_Peter_MeyerMartin Meyer is an attorney having been admitted to practice on November 9, 1988. He also serves as a Pro Tem Judge in Thurston County Superior and District Courts, and the Cities of Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater and Yelm. Martin is currently the President of the downtown Olympia Rotary Club. Martin joined the PSPH Community Ministry Board in January 2010 and serves on the Health Services Committee of the Board.

William Mitchell, M.D.

mitchell_williamDr. Mitchell was born in Seattle and raised in Lake Stevens. After attending the University of Washington he traveled to New York City where he attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. After residency and fellowship training in Cooperstown, NY and Dartmouth Medical Center in New Hampshire he moved to Olympia in 1985 with Johanna and their three children where he joined the Memorial Clinic as a staff gastroenterologist. He was active in Medical Staff affairs in various capacities including recruitment, family practice residency program, and volunteer teaching. Dr. Mitchell was also Medical Staff President from 2000-2001. He is currently in private practice with Gastroenterology Associates where he is a managing partner.

Larry Poplack

poplack_larryLarry Poplack was born in Providence St. Peter Hospital’s west Olympia location. Before his first birthday the family moved to California where Larry lived until returning to Olympia in 2004. Larry graduated from California State University at San Jose with a bachelor’s degree in education. He served two years active duty in the United States Army before returning to California State University at Long Beach where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy.

Gerald Pumphrey, Ed.D.

St_Peter_PumphreyDr. Pumphrey was appointed to the role of President of South Puget Sound Community College in 2006, and immediately began an active role in our community. His 20+ years of experience in community college administration, and an extensive background and interest in workforce development, serves us well. Pumphrey retired from the college in February of 2013. Pumphrey is a current member of the Thurston Roundtable and serves the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities as a volunteer in their institutional accreditation work. In addition, Dr. Pumphrey is an adjunct faculty in the Doctoral Program in Education Leadership at the University of Washington – Tacoma.

Laurie Sorenson, M.D.

St_Peter_SorensonDr. Sorenson arrived in Olympia in 1990, immediately after finishing medical school. She is a board certified OB/GYN physician practicing full time with Olympia Obstetrics & Gynecology. During her over 20 year tenure at Providence she has served as chair of the Department of Surgery, headed the Division of Obstetrics, headed the division of Gynecology, and served as medical staff president during 2004 and 2005. Dr. Sorenson joined the Providence St. Peter Hospital Community Board in February 2011.

Ian Timms, M.D.

timms_ianDr. Timms began practicing medicine in Olympia in 1997. He is Co-president of South Sound Radiology and is the Medical Director for Diagnostic Imaging at the hospital. Dr. Timms lives in Olympia and enjoys sailing with his family on Puget Sound during his free time.

Dr. Timms joined the Community Ministry Board in 2015.

Daidre West

West_DaidreFor more than 30 years, registered nurse Daidre West, has been actively employed in health care in the South Sound. She has held positions at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Group Health Cooperative and is currently employed by Franciscan Health Services as the Risk Manager at St. Clare Hospital. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives, Sigma Theta Tau, Honor Society for Nursing, Clover Park Rotary Club, and has served on SoundHomeCare and Hospice Professional Advisory Board.

Daidre joined the Community Ministry Board in 2017.

Rachel Wood, MD, MPH

Wood_RachelRachel Wood grew up in New Mexico, graduating from high school in Santa Fe in 1974. She loved the out of doors and graduated with a B. A. in Biology from The Colorado College in the spring of 1978. It was while she was studying Peregrine Falcon habitat in the mountains and canyons of Colorado that she realized she needed to care for people as her calling in life.

Dr. Wood joined the Community Ministry Board in 2017.
