Welcome to St. Peter Hospital

Whether you're a patient or a visitor, it is our goal to make your time spent at Providence St. Peter Hospital as easy and stress-free as possible.

Facility information

People with colds or infections should not visit any patient staying in the hospital. St. Peter Hospital has a no-tobacco policy that includes patients, staff and visitors. All visiting children must be accompanied by an adult.

Medical-surgical units

  • Visiting hours are 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
  • No more than two visitors at a time, please.
  • Children under age seven may visit with permission of the nurse.
  • Visitors should not bring food without the nurse’s permission since the patient may be on a special diet.

Family Birth Center

  • Visiting hours are 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
  • The Family Birth Center has a quiet time between 2 p.m.-4 p.m. every day. The Postpartum Unit is closed to visitors during this time to allow our patients to rest, breastfeed and bond with their new baby(ies). Please adjust your visits around this scheduled downtime if at all possible.

Critical care

  • Immediate family and significant others are allowed to visit. Please, no children under age 14. Check with your nurse if this is a problem.
  • Visitors should limit their stay to ten minutes per hour. Discuss visiting hours with the nursing staff.

Regional Cancer System

  • Visiting hours are restricted only by the patient’s condition and patient or family requests. 

Pediatric (children’s) unit

  • Visits welcome from 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m.


  • Visiting hours are 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

Surgery patients

  • Visitors are welcome to visit surgery patients in their room before and after surgery. Family members wanting to speak to the surgeon after an operation should stay in the surgery waiting area.

 You have two shops to choose from to order flowers, balloons or gifts for patients at Providence St. Peter Hospital: Providence Corner Gift Shop in main lobby ,360-493-7308, or Lullabies Gift Shop (new mom & baby) on lower level, 360-493-5197.

Providence Corner Gift Shop

Location: St. Peter Hospital lobby
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sunday, noon-4 p.m.
Closed major holidays

Lactation equipment and accessories

You can rent or purchase lactation equipment and accessories through Lullabies Gift Shop on lower level or Providence Corner Gift Shop in main lobby.

Lullabies Gift Shop

Location: Lower Level
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9-5
Closed weekends and major holidays

Lullabies is the only rental station of its kind in Thurston, Mason, Lewis & Grays Harbor Counties, with breast pumps available for rent or purchase. Lullabies Gift Shop focuses on comfort items for mom & baby, such as foot, back and head massagers, cozy slippers & warm, fuzzy socks. Providence Corner in main lobby rents pumps during Lullabies non-business hours.

Your support of our gift shops is much appreciated! All profit from the gift shop goes into the Volunteer Gift Shop Grant Fund, which helps the hospital purchase much-needed equipment and technology.

Visitors are welcome to use the cafeteria on the hospital’s second floor or can join a patient for a meal in the patient's room if they purchase a guest ticket in advance from the cafeteria. The cafeteria is open from 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Hot food is available at the following times:

  • Breakfast: 6:30-9:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4-8 p.m.

Starbucks coffee is located on the first floor in the main lobby.

St. Peter Hospital provides free wireless internet access for patients and visitors. Please note: Our network restricts access to certain websites due to explicit content or network security risks.

To access the St. Peter Hospital wireless network, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the wireless icon in the bottom right of your computer screen.
  2. Click the wireless icon. A pop-up window will appear and display the various wireless networks at St. Peter Hospital. As a guest, patient or visitor, you can use the network “Prov-Guest.” This is an open network, so no password is required.
  3. Select “Prov-Guest” and then click “Connect.” You should be connected to the internet.
A cash machine is located on the second floor of the hospital in Cabrini's Cafeteria.
