Sports medicine

Our orthopedics team includes sports medicine experts who treat everything from sprains, strains and overuse injuries to fractures and concussions. See us for routine checkups, sports medicine and physical therapy to keep you in the game as well as major joint repair or reconstruction and more.

Minimally invasive surgery

When possible, Providence doctors use minimally invasive surgical approaches to treat certain conditions. Our surgeons use advanced imaging and surgical instruments to operate with fewer incisions for easier, faster recovery than traditional open surgery. Your doctor will discuss which options are right for you.

Arthroscopic diagnosis and treatment

Your doctor may examine or treat certain knee, hip, shoulder or other joint conditions using arthroscopic surgery. Arthroscopy is sometimes called keyhole surgery because doctors can insert an arthroscope through a small, keyhole-sized incision.

The thin tube-like scope includes a fiber-optic video camera. Doctors use this device to look inside a joint to diagnose and treat problems such as inflamed or injured tissues. In some instances, surgeons can create another small incision and use sophisticated tools to treat the injured area.

At Providence, our specialists will coordinate your care across many areas of medicine. Your team may include these and other experts:

  • Dietitians
