Premera Blue Cross and Providence Health & Services and its partners, Swedish, PacMed and Kadlec have signed a three-year contract, ensuring patients enrolled in Premera’s employer-sponsored health benefits plan have access to Providence doctors, clinics and hospitals.

This agreement is only for Premera’s Heritage Plus network—commercial/employer-sponsored health plans. Providence also continues to participate in the Medicare Advantage plans for seniors 65 and over. The agreement does not include Premera’s Heritage Prime network, or Premera’s individual networks Heritage Signature and LifeWise Connect, both of which are available on the Washington Health Benefit Exchange.

The contract Premera and Providence have agreed to will begin on January 1, 2017. The current contract expires December 31, 2016.
