National Walking Day is April 5

The first Wednesday in April is National Walking Day. The American Heart Association sponsors this day to remind people about the health benefits of taking a walk. Wear your sneakers (or take them with you) to work and at some point in the day, you are encouraged to take a 30-minute walk. To learn more, visit

Providence Colby Campus will host a 30 minute walk on April 5th – open to caregivers and the community. Those interested should meet promptly at 12:00 PM at the 14th street entrance – near the Café. Lace up your walking shoes and get started with little steps for big gains!
