Walla Walla General Hospital, Adventist Health Home Care Services and Adventist Health Medical Group to close
Walla Walla, WA—Adventist Health has notified Providence of its decision to discontinue negotiations to transfer control of Walla Walla General Hospital to Providence Health & Services Washington. As part of that decision, Adventist Health announced today its intention to close its facilities in Walla Walla effective July 24.
We are, of course, disappointed and saddened by the decision to not continue with the proposed transaction and to close the Adventist facilities in Walla Walla, but understand and accept their decision. We have deep respect for the Adventist Health mission and its 100+ year commitment to serving the Walla Walla community.
Providence St. Mary Medical Center will continue to provide comprehensive health care services to the people of the greater Walla Walla Valley as it has for the past 137 years. Providence will work together with the community to identify and meet the health care needs of the region.
