Providence Medical Group has signed contracts with nine Adventist Health providers and is continuing conversations with several more.
To date, the providers who will join Providence after the closing of Walla Walla General Hospital and the Adventist Health clinics are:
- Carmen Elhers, MD - family medicine
- Claudiu-Gily Ionescu-Tajti, MD - internal medicine
- Albert Randolph, MD - family medicine
- Dale Peterson, MD - family practitioner for Urgent Care
- David Woolever, MD - internal medicine
- Mary Buriani, ARNP - family medicine
- Jennifer Christenson, ARNP - family medicine
- Dana Sineath, FNP - family medicine
“Providence Medical Group is pleased that these providers are choosing to join us, and I’m certain their patients will be, too” said Timothy Davidson, MD - physician chief executive of Providence Medical Group for Walla Walla. “It is our goal to transition the providers into Providence with as little disruption as possible for their patients.”
Providence is making every effort to expedite the process of transitioning providers, so it will be early September when the providers can begin seeing patients under Providence. Patients can call the current number of the provider to schedule appointments during the transition period. Once providers are officially with Providence, the phone number will likely change.
Patients who need to see a provider before September are encouraged to visit Providence Urgent Care at 380 Chase Street or Providence Express Care in College Place across the street from Wal-Mart at 1703 S.E. Meadowbrook, Ste. 2.
People who do not currently have a primary care provider also can call Providence Family Medicine at (509) 897-3700. The medical group’s physicians are opening their practices to accept new patients in response to the community need.
