Macy's and Providence to host Heart Month Fashion Show

Walla Walla, WA—Macy’s Walla Walla and Providence St. Mary Medical Center will host a free Heart Month Fashion Show Saturday, February 23, 12-1 p.m. at Macy’s, 54 E. Main Street.

The show will feature fashions for men, women and children, intermingled with information on how to improve and maintain heart health. The models will be Providence employees, volunteers and their children or grandchildren. The stairway from the main level to upstairs will serve as the runway.

“This cause is near and dear to our hearts at Macy’s, affecting customers and colleagues in our local communities,” said Patrick Skinner, Macy’s story manager of Walla Walla. “By providing different ways for our customers to give back, together we are helping women of all ages and backgrounds live longer, healthier lives through our contributions and commitment to supporting women’s health.”

The show is an opportunity to highlight both great fashion and health. February is National Heart Month, a time to focus attention on steps people can take to prevent heart disease and improve their overall health.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. The risk of developing heart disease can be significantly reduced by quitting smoking, watching your weight, working with your doctor to control your cholesterol and blood pressure, making healthy eating choices, and being active. Even small changes can make a big difference.
