Providence offering free COPD Management Group

A free group to help people manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) will have an introductory meeting March 14, 2013, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Providence Room on Level 1 of Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
The free COPD Management Group would be helpful for people with chronic bronchitis, reoccurring pneumonia or pulmonary fibrosis. Their family members and caregivers are also welcome.
People living with COPD can take many steps to breathe better and feel better. At this introductory meeting, the group will see a video on the basics of COPD, meet medical providers who can help to them in managing the disease, and take a tour of the gym used for pulmonary rehabilitation. Future sessions will offer speakers, education and information to help people better manage their conditions and live healthier lives.
People do not have to be patients of Providence St. Mary to attend the meeting.
