Drug Exposed Newborns: Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome

This Continuing Professional Development course covers illicit and legal substances used during pregnancy, and the effects on the neonate. Discussions will include abstinence scoring with the Modified Finnegan tool, as well as pharmacologic and supportive treatments.

Sheri has more than 40 years experience in NICU nursing, including chief transport nurse and educator. As a clinical nurse specialist, she designed a neonatal
transport system for a large NICU in Saudi Arabia. She is currently a level III NICU nurse.
