Free 5K Heart Health Fun Run
No preregistration. Just come, have fun and get a free T-shirt
Providence Medical Group will host its sixth annual free 5K Heart Health Fun Run along the Mill Creek Channel. Free T-shirts will be given to participants, while supplies last.
The event is suitable for adults and children. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome as well. It starts and ends at the Rooks Park picnic shelter near the Mill Creek Channel (a different location than in previous years). It’s intended to be a casual, fun event—not a race.
In lieu of a registration fee, participants are invited to “heal it forward” and bring a toiletries donation for The Loft—the new teen homeless shelter in Walla Walla for unaccompanied youth ages 12-17. Items most needed are:
- shaving cream
- hair brushes
- face wash/wipes
Monetary donations also will be accepted. Checks can be made payable to “Catholic Charities,” specifying “The Loft Teen Shelter” in the memo line.
Providence Medical Group hosts the run/walk each year as part of Heart to Start, to encourage heart healthy summer activities in our community.
